Being an adult is tough shit, but being yourself is even harder...
As a newbie in the floral world, I'm so overwhelmed by all of the amazing people I'm meeting! So incredibly creative and artistic and darn cute to match. These boss folks not only have fantastic design skills, they are gorgeous and so stylish! Me, not so much... I mean, I do really love a good pair o' shoes and a nice draping sweater, but for the most part, I tend to roll around in a "slightly too dirty" pair of jeans, with no makeup on, and a head of messy (legitimately unbrushed) hair tied in a bun. That's just me! Whenever I try to pull myself together just a little more than normal, it doesn't quite feel right.
In this crazy time where you can literally see all versions of happy people in every corner of the world on social media, it can be SOOOOO easy to compare. And even easier to want what you don't have. I'm not a genius, but I truly believe happiness isn't what you wear, all the people you know or the fantastic, amazing adventures you're going on. Happiness is something we have to find purely inside of ourselves.
Now how the f*** do we do that??? I don't know. But maybe starting by embracing all the quirks and special characteristics that make you you. You might not be everyone's favorite person, but I bet you'll be one of yours. Coming from someone who's real weird, like all the time, weirdos make the best of friends.
Be your weird self!
DISCLAIMER: This doesn't give you an excuse to be a shitty person. Be good and kind. And try to make the world a better place.
Oh yeah, and here's my "be yourself" theme song to keep ya dancin'...
